Terms of Use

Last updated: 17 August 2026

The plain-English rules for using 11+ English. They are written for parents and carers, because a grown-up holds the account and takes responsibility for it.

1. Who we are, and what this is

11+ English is the website at 11plusenglish.com and the 11 Plus English app for iPhone and iPad. Both are provided by Ayda Digital, United Kingdom. It is a set of practice material for children preparing for 11+ entrance exams: reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary, writing tasks and maths practice.

By using the website or the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree with them, please do not use it.

2. The account belongs to a grown-up

  • You must be 18 or over to create an account. A child cannot create one.
  • You add each child, choose their username, and set their 4-digit PIN. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including your child's use of it.
  • Keep your sign-in and your child's PIN private, and supervise young children as you would with anything else online.
  • Free accounts can have one learner; a paid pass allows two. Please do not share one account between families.

3. What this is — and what it is not

  • It is practice material written and curated by us. It is not a set of past papers and not official exam material.
  • We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to GL Assessment, CEM, any exam board, any school, any local authority or any tutoring organisation. Any school or exam named on the site is named only to describe what the practice is for.
  • We do not promise any exam result or a place at any school. Practice helps; it does not decide. Nothing here is a prediction of how your child will do.
  • Writing feedback, marks and the maths help chat are produced by an AI language model, not a teacher. It can be wrong, too generous, too harsh, or simply miss the point. Treat it as a helpful guide, never as an assessment of your child's ability.
  • Nothing on the site or in the app is professional, educational or clinical advice, and it is not a substitute for a teacher, a tutor, or a formal assessment of your child's needs. If you are worried about your child's progress, speak to their school.
  • Keep your own records of anything that matters to you — scores, written work, receipts. Do not rely on us as your only copy.

4. Security, and who can see your child's progress

  • The account is protected only by your sign-in, your child's PIN, and the lock on your device. The app remembers the sign-in, so anyone who can unlock that phone or tablet can open the app and see your child's progress and writing.
  • Anyone signed in to your parent account can see everything about every child on it.
  • Keep the device locked, keep the PIN private, and sign out on a shared or borrowed computer.
  • We are not responsible for what anyone does with information after they have gained access to your device, your account, or a link you have shared — a partner, a relative, an employer or anybody else.

5. Data loss

The service is provided as is. We do our best to look after your family's work, but we do not promise that any of it will be kept, backed up, or delivered to you, and we are not liable for data that is lost, deleted or corrupted — whether by a fault, a mistake, an account deletion or anything else. Save or print anything you want to keep.

6. Free use and paid passes

  • A large part of the material is free. Some modules need a Full Access pass.
  • On the website, Full Access passes are one-off purchases, not subscriptions — there is no auto-renewal: 30 days, 90 days or 180 days, currently £13.99, £34.99 and £69.99. Payment is handled by Stripe.
  • In the iPhone/iPad app, passes are sold by Apple as In-App Purchases at the prices Apple shows. Apple bills you, and refunds for those purchases are handled by Apple under their terms.
  • Prices can change; the price shown to you at checkout is the one that applies. Access ends when the pass expires.
  • As a UK consumer buying digital content you have statutory rights, including cancellation rights, which these terms do not affect. If something has gone wrong, write to us and we will sort it out.

7. Acceptable use

  • Use the service only for lawful, non-abusive purposes. You are solely responsible for complying with the law where you are.
  • Do not copy, redistribute, resell, scrape or republish our passages, questions or feedback; they are our copyright and are licensed to you for your own family's personal use.
  • Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service, and do not use automated tools against it.
  • Do not type anything unlawful or abusive into a writing task or the maths chat, and do not include details that identify a real person.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we may cooperate with lawful requests from the police, a regulator or a court.

8. Availability

We run this as a small independent service. It may be unavailable, change, or stop altogether, at any time and without notice. We do not promise it will always be there, always be correct, or always work on your device.

9. No warranties, and our liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the greater of £50 or the amount you actually paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunity, exam outcomes, or lost data.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Law, and Apple

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protections of your local law.

If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies and takes precedence over these terms where the two conflict. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and Apple is not a party to these terms — but Apple may enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page with the date at the top; continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
